Some of the children in Year 4 attend the after school recorder club. Today they visited Miss. Penkman's class in FS2 to play 'Old McDonlad' to them.
The children had been learning the nursery rhyme and the recorder club have been practicing the melody . . . so showcase our talents?

Do you think the children have done well to learn this in only two weeks?
Would you like them to visit your class?

Being a retired secondary school music teacher myself, I am impressed by the initiative shown to encourage younger students to take up a simple musical instrument, such as the recorder. Keep up the enthusiasm for music, from Mr Falconer, Retired Head of Music, Knightswood Music Academy, Glasgow.
I was very impressed by the quality of music from the children, considering that they have only been learning the recorder for 2 weeks! They must have an enthusiastic teacher!
Keep up the good work! Music makes everyone happy!

My name is Amani Alloul and I am currently enrolled at the University of South Alabama! I am taking Dr. John Strange's EDM 310 course and was assigned to post on this blog.
All I can say is wow! These students held such posture and form! They truly are talented! The fact that learned how to perform like this in only two weeks makes it even more fascinating!!
My name is Stephanie I am in Dr. Strange's EDM 310 class at the University of South Alabama. This group of students was amazing. I think they did wonderful for only practicing for two weeks and at such an early age I think this is great for them to start learning how to play an instrument. I would love for them to come to my class and play I think it would get other children interested in music as well. GREAT JOB!!
